Memorial Day Parade – May 30, 2011

The 2010-11 Marching Band will participate in West Chester's annual Memorial Day Parade and ceremony on Monday, May 30th. The band will wear summer uniforms. Band members will meet at the former Union Elementary School on Cincinnati-Dayton Road, Please drop students off directly in front of the school no later than 9:30 a.m.  (The Marching Band Rookies first parade will be July 4th.)

Marching Band Rookie Day Parent Meeting

Parents of Marching Band Rookies – Please attend the annual Rookie Day Parent Meeting 6 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, May 27 in the East Main Campus cafeteria. Get lots of useful information on pre-camp and Band Camp and have an opportunity to get your MB questions answered during and after the meeting. You will also have a chance to hear about volunteer opportunities and be able to sign up where there. Rookies should attend, as well. The meeting immediately follows their after-school Rookie Day. All Marching Band forms are now available on the website at Lakotaeastbands.org and should be turned in at the first day of pre-camp.
 
Marching Band Rookie Day — Help Needed with the Meeting
If you can provide cookies and/or bottled water for the Rookie Day meeting, please contact Barb Wilson at 755-6536 or bawilson1209@gmail.com. There will be lots of very hungry and thirsty rookies, section leaders, band directors, rookie parents and two band camp chairs who will appreciate your help very much. If you can help with set-up starting around 5:15, let us know. Again, we appreciate your help.

2011 Marching Thunderhawk Registration Form

The 2011 Marching Band season is just around the corner and it's time to stand up and be counted! Students interested in being a part of marching band and their parents are encouraged to attend Marching Band Registration Night on Tuesday, May 3. Come to the Lakota East Freshman building anytime between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to learn more about marching band and to resgister for marching band. There will be various stations set up to answer all your questions about being a part of the Lakota East Marching Band's tradition of excellence.
 
Marching Band fees for 2011 are $550 and cover the costs of marching band camp at Wright State University in August, transportation, uniforms, staff and incidental costs. Fundraising opportunities will be made available throughout the year to help your student contribute to this cost. A $200 non-refundable deposit will be collected on registration night (May 3) with additional payment due in June and July. Payment is accepted by check or credit card (MasterCard or Visa) with a handling fee added to credit card transaction.
 
Registration night is also a great time for parents to become more familiar with the marching band program, speak with Upbeat Club members and Marching Band staff, and find out all the great volunteer opportunities that are available.  
 
There is a big trip planned for the marching band this season which is not mandatory, but will be an added cost.
