CCM Prep Youth Jazz Orchestras (CYJO I & II)

These two ensembles are jazz big bands, with instrumentation just like the big bands in Lakota.  Both ensembles are open to students in grades 9-12 from all over the Greater Cincinnati region.  Conveniently, the groups rehearse in Lakota on Monday evenings.  For more information, please click on the website links below.

CCM Prep Jazz Experience

Director: Jennifer Grantham

This big band is open to students in grades 9-12.  Rehearsals are held at the University of Cincinnati.

Eastside Jazz Combos

Director: JC Heisler

Eastside Jazz Combos are small jazz groups consisting of a rhythm section and some wind musicians.  The groups are open to LEHS musicians in grades 10-12.  For more information, please see Mr. Hartman in class for a handout.

 

OMEA District 13 Honor Jazz Band

This regional all-star ensemble is formed by auditions and made up of a select group of musicians.  All Lakota high school jazz students are encouraged to audition.  Details regarding auditions and the ensemble will be given out annually in November.  Auditions are in early December. 

 

OMEA All-State Jazz Ensemble

This all-star jazz ensemble is open to all Ohio high school students.  Auditions are by CD only.  CDs are to be made in May and mailed by the late-May deadline.  Audition information will be sent out in April each year.

 

Tri-State Jazz Ensemble
