Crisp, Bryan – Trumpet

Bryan Crisp has toured the United States extensively as a soloist and educator. As a member of “Mr. Jack Daniel’s Original Silver Cornet Band”, and a previous member of “Tim Zimmerman and the King’s Brass,” Bryan has had the opportunity to perform as soloist in concert halls in over 38 states and such prestigious events as the International Trumpet Guild Conference, The Great American Brass Band Festival, Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, Mammoth Lakes Jazz Festival, Medford Jazz festival and the SunValley Jazz Jamboree.

Bryan has been a winner of the National Trumpet Competition (brass quintet division), the Tennessee Trumpet Competition (solo and duet divisions) and a recipient of the Blackburn scholarship given by ITG in 2001. As well as these awards, Mr. Crisp has performed with several orchestras including the Cincinnati Symphony, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Dayton Philharmonic, Nashville Symphony, Middletown Symphony, Kentucky Symphony, Richmond Symphony, Bryan Symphony, Blue Ash Montgomery Symphony, and is currently a member of the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra under the direction of Carmon DeLeone. In addition to these, Bryan has also performed with the Broadway Series’ of “Peter Pan” starring Cathy Rigby, “Mary Poppins”, “Legally Blonde”, “South Pacific”, as well as the Cincinnati Brass Band, and was lead trumpet at the Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, Tn for five seasons performing over ten shows.

As a music educator, Bryan is currently the Instructor of Trumpet at Wittenberg University and the College of Mt. St. Joseph’s. He has been the Teacher of Applied Trumpet at the University of Cincinnati College – Conservatory of Music and the Tennessee Governors School for the Arts Program as well as working two years as the Assistant Band Director at Cumberland County High School and the Director of Bands at North Cumberland Elementary School. Bryan has taught at high schools all across the southeast and currently serves as the brass and visual instructors for several schools in the Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio areas.

Bryan holds two undergraduate degrees from Tennessee Technological University in Music Education and Music Performance and a Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College- Conservatory of Music (CCM). Currently, he is pursuing studies towards a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM).

Bryan can be heard on seven recordings including the latest available through Summit Records titled Classic Hymns DCD428, 2005. Mr. Crisp is a Yamaha Performing Artist.

Bryan lives in Northern Kentucky with his beautiful wife Sarah, daughter Sadie, and three dogs; Bailey, George, and Annie.
