Arnow, Chad – Trombone & Tuba
Chad Arnow maintains an active schedule as a performer on trombone, bass trombone, and euphonium and as a teacher of middle school, high school, and college low brass students. He has served as bass trombonist of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra since 2000. He has also served as a substitute and extra musician with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra since 1998, performing with them several times each year and appearing on four of their recordings. He has also performed with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Richmond Symphony Orchestra, and Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his orchestral performances, he has also performed in numerous small ensembles, including the Hal Harris and Kim Kelly Orchestra big bands, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Brass Quintet, and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet.
Chad serves as the Trombone and Tuba Instructor at Xavier University and as the Low Brass Instructor at the College of Mt. St. Joseph. He also maintains a private studio of 15-20 middle and high school students, teaching students of all ability levels.
Chad received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Trombone Performance from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). He has studied with Tony Chipurn (retired principal trombonist of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra) Peter Norton (bass trombonist of the CSO and former principal trombonist of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra) and Timothy J. Northcut (CCM Associate Professor of Music-Tuba and Euphonium).
