Symphonic Winds
Symphonic Winds, the top of three concert
bands, is an OMEA Class AA band. Students audition for placement in
the concert bands based on their musical maturity. Symphonic Winds
has received superior ratings at every district, state and national
level adjudicated event in which they have performed. Notable
performances include:
· 2001, 2004, and 2007 National Adjudicators

· Bowling Green State University New Music Reading

· University of Akron Ohio Band Directors
Conference
· The OMEA Professional Development Conference
All students in concert bands are highly encouraged to participate
in various honor bands ranging from District XIII Honor Band to
All-State Band and Orchestra. Another important part of the program
is solo/ensemble adjudicated event. Each student participates in at
least two events. This year, Lakota East had over 200 solo and
ensemble entries.
