JAZZ BAND NEWS - OSU Jazz Fest DETAILS

On Saturday, April 5, 2008, the Eastside Jazz Ensemble traveled to Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio to perform in the 31st Annual Ohio State University Jazz Festival. Eastside Jazz received a Superior rating along with groups from Hudson, Ashland, Perrysburg and Kings, Ohio. Throughout the day, performances from eighteen high schools throughout Ohio entertained the audience and adjudicators. After each performance the group received a “clinic”. The guest clinician who worked with the band following their performance was extremely impressed and very kind in his compliments for the students.

Congratulations to senior trumpet player, Ayaz Kutubuddin who received “All Star Honor Band” recognition for his lead trumpet playing.

Thanks to Mr. Hartman and the students for their great work in “keeping the tradition” of excellence for the Lakota East High School Band program.
 

Announcing to everyone the safe arrival of Natalie Elizabeth Hartman weighing in at 8 pounds 10 ounces and 21 inches in length!  Natalie was born Friday, January 4th, to proud parents, Todd and Susan Hartman.  Congratulations to Todd and Susan and a very special welcome to baby Natalie, the newest "addition" to our Lakota East band family!
