Start your weekend off with a real "kick" as the award-winning Lakota East High School jazz bands perform at Cool Jazz n' Hotcakes on Saturday, May 12th.

The Eastside Jazz Ensemble will be fresh from their performance in New York City and will be ready to strut their stuff along with the other Lakota East High School and junior high jazz bands.

The breakfast is 8 a.m. to noon at the Lakota East Main Campus in Liberty Township. A $6 ticket will get you all the pancakes you can eat and some fine entertainment. There will also be raffle prizes including an autographed guitar from Bootsy Collins, an autographed CD and picture from Wynton Marsalis and a Smoky Mountain Getaway at the Wyndham Resort for 3 nights July 5-7th. It is a 2 bedroom condo that sleeps 8.

Rosie Red will be there for pictures and Married with Microphones' Chris and Janeen from 103.5 WGRR will be the masters of ceremonies.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Lakota East band programs.
