Thunderhawk Band News for August 29th, 2011

1. Marching Band Photo Buttons
Spirit Wear has the Photo Buttons not claimed at Band Camp's Friday Show. Each family receives 2 complimentary photo buttons to be worn at games and contests. They are available at the Spirit Wear Table at each home game or contact Debbie McPhillips (debmcphillips@gmail.com) or Jenn Park (jennpark@att.net).
2. Entertainment Books are Here
All band students are asked to sell the Entertainer Books
Books sell for $25.00 each…..
Sell one book …profits of $10 goes to the general Upbeat Club fund.
Sell 2,3,4, or 5 books and students receive $5 per book in their personal band account ( the other $5 goes to the General fund)
The 6th book is free! Save it for your family or sell it, if you like ….If you sell it the whole $10 profit goes into your student person band account.
It starts over from there, with the 7th book giving $10 to the general fund…and then any subsequent books giving $5 to the students personal band accounts.
We will be selling the Entertainment Books till September 19…..All money needs to be turned into the collect box in the band room.
When turning in money…Please make checks payable to LEUC…..
Make sure that all money is in a sealed envelope with your students Name, and Grade on the outside of the envelope.
Any unsold books need to be returned to me marked with a post note or paper attached identifying again the name of the student and grade they are in.

3. Lakota East Tag Day – Saturday, September 10, 2011, 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.
WE NEED 20 MORE PARENT DRIVERS!! THE MORE DRIVERS, THE MORE AREA THE KIDS CAN COVER, THE MORE MONEY THE BAND MAKES!
Tag Day is a scheduled day that band and color guard members will go door-to-door in the East School District Neighborhoods to solicit funds for our Band Uniform Fund. The Band Uniform Fund is used for the purchase of future band uniforms for all East Bands and for the care and cleaning of these uniforms. Tag Day is a required activity for all band and color guard students. Lakota East Band Parents will be driving the students through the neighborhoods. Students will be paired up to request donations and will never be out of sight of the parent driver. Please email Jill Cleaves at jcleaves@cinci.rr.com if you can be a driver!
4. CITIRAMA Show, September 16 – 25
Join us for a great opportunity to make money for your students' personal band account! Perry Bush Building Group will display their wonderfully unique custom-built home in the upcoming Citirama show in The Villages of Daybreak subdivision in Bond Hill. We need teams of two to be hosts during the show. Perry Bush Building Group will pay $7.50 per person per hour for each team who works the show. Teams can be one adult and one student OR two adults. Please see attached schedule for available shifts. You can work multiple shifts on any days or just one. Please email Jennifer Moak at president@lakotaeastbands.org to schedule your team or for additional information.
Home Games Cookie Schedule
Aug 25th
At home games, the East band invites the visiting team to the home side for refreshments and cookies. Our band members each supply the cookies (2-dozen) and one two-liter of clear soda. Store bought is acceptable, (but the directors really like homemade cookies!). Here is the cookie list:

1. The cut off for coverage for pre-existing conditions and cancel for any reason is 8/18/11.
2. The insurance is being coordinated through Gateway, not the Lakota East Upbeat Club. If you are interested in purchasing the insurance, you must mail your check directly to Gateway following the instructions at the bottom of page
