Marching Band Camp – Chaperones Needed, Meetings, Packing List

Chaperones Needed
We are in serious need of male chaperones for marching band camp at Wright State University the week of August 14! Any time you can spare would be appreciated. If you can stay all week, one night, two nights — whatever you can spare would be greatly appreciated. Even if you're able to come after work, spend the night and then return to your job the next day, the help is desperately needed. It's also a good time! I promise.

If you are already planning to stay at band camp as a chaperone, but haven't contacted Barb Wilson, please do so. We will need to provide Wright State with a final count soon.
Wondering What to Pack for Band Camp?
Recommended packing lists for girls and guys can be found at the bottom of this post. All meals are provided, so please don't have your students load up on food for the dorms. If there are dietary restrictions, please email Barb WIlson at bawilson1209@gmail.com.
Pre-Camp To Do's
During pre-camp please make sure you have submitted all the necessary forms and a picture. There will be a box in the band room where forms can be deposited. All medication forms need to be signed by a doctor, so please review the forms checklist at lakotaeastbands.org.
Also, please bring soft drinks and snacks to be shared by all band members during our week at Wright State. Each student is asked to contribute one 24-pack of pop and one packaged snack item. Other wish list items for band camp: plastic cups, large containers of powdered drink mix, paper towels, and napkins. These items can be left in a designated location in the band room.
Students will sign up for band room mates by grade level during the first week of band camp. Mr. Thomas will announce.
Band Camp Meetings
Band Camp chaperones are asked to attend a meeting at 6:30 p.m. on August 10 at Neidermann Farm. Chaperones will receive their assignments and get some sage advice of those who have experienced band camp as a chaperone before.

AND TUESDAY, AUGUST 9, 6:00 – 8:00 PM
(LAST NAMES M – Z)
TIMES WILL BE ASSIGNED THROUGHOUT THE EVENING ACCORDING TO LAST NAME. MORE DETAILED INFORMATION WILL BE ON THE WEBSITE AND IN THE UPBEAT NOTES AS PRE-CAMP GETS CLOSER. INFORMATION WILL ALSO COME HOME WITH YOUR STUDENT THE FIRST DAY OF PRE-CAMP ON AUGUST 1.
ALL STUDENTS MUST BE FITTED BEFORE THURSDAY, AUGUST 11 BECAUSE THAT IS THE DAY FOR THE LARGE GROUP PHOTO.
Upbeat Club Meeting moved to July 28th

The club voted at the last meeting to have the July 21st meeting moved to the 28th. This was due to availability of the band directors. Unfortunately, some emails have gone out stating that there is a meeting tonight. Please make note that the Upbeat Club meeting will be on the 28th.
Don't forget that EVERYONE is invited. If you have an idea or suggestion, or would like to help out in some way, come to the meeting and introduce yourself. Our sole focus is on helping the bands at Lakota East and the schools that feed into the high school.
